Sylvie Guinard (MBA 2002) always dreamed of being an astronaut, and she is still passionate about space and aeronautics.
But, because fighter-pilot training was off-limits to women at that time, and the physical requirements seemed out of her reach, she chose the technical route and became a mechanical engineer with a degree from ESTACA (Transportation Engineering School). Next, at the age of 36, she pursued another dream, albeit less spectacular, but which makes her everyday life an exciting experience - taking over the reins of the family-owned business, Thimonnier. Located in Saint-Germain-au-Mont D'Or (Rhône), this company was originally founded with the invention of the sewing machine.
The company employs 60 people and, over the past five years, has seen double-digit growth in sales.

Sylvie GUINARD reçoit l'insigne d’Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite
Mercredi 12 juin, Sylvie GUINARD, présidente de Thimonnier, recevait l’insigne d’Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite des mains de Monsieur Pascal FAURE, Directeur général de l’INPI.
